Gathering Voices: Ishaq Pathan, Islamic Networks Group “Religious literacy in general is very low.”

Islamic Networks Group (ING) is a peace-building organization providing face-to-face education and engagement opportunities that foster understanding of Muslims and other misunderstood groups to promote harmony among all people.

ING’s goal of challenging stereotypes, preventing prejudice, and promoting understanding through education has been important since its inception in 1993. In a post-9/11 world, however, this work has become critical to combating rising anti-Muslim sentiment and Islamophobia which have reached unprecedented levels in recent years and have become commonplace in the media, government, and the public square.
